Thank you for publishing the TRUTH about H$U$ (dollar signs intentional). It is important to understand the difference between animal RIGHTS and animal WELFARE. HSUS is an animal rights organization as is PETA. Their core belief is that animals have the RIGHT not to be owned by humans….no matter how loved or well cared for. Their long term goal is the elimination of all domestic animals on the planet. Every law they push to “protect” animals is a step toward making it impossible to own an animal for any reason or to hunt, no matter how responsibly. Don’t believe it? Readand believe their own words:
“The life of an ant and that of my child should be granted equal
consideration.”
-Michael W. Fox, HSUS Senior Scholar
“We have no problems with the extinction of domestic animals. They are
creations of human selective breeding.”
-Wayne Pacelle, HSUS President & CEO
“My goal is the abolition of all animal agriculture.”
-J.P. Goodwin, HSUS Grassroots Coordinator
“Our goal is to get sport hunting in the same category as cock fighting and
dog fighting.”
-Wayne Pacelle, HSUS President & CEO No responsible breeder nor AKC wants to see ANY animal mistreated or neglected. If you want to truly help animals in need, give your donation and/or volunteer time to your local animal shelter or rescue program.
Congratulations on a great article revealing the dirty truth about HSUS! They recently introduced another element of their goal to eradicate pets: “Humane Choice” dog food. Most pet owners would not recognize that this is a VEGAN food for carnivores. Nothing on the front of the bag indicates it; only that it’s “organic”, which of course would appeal to conscientious pet owners. You have to read the actual ingredients to realize that the food contains NOTHING that is species-appropriate for carnivores. Sure, it can sustain dogs’ lives for quite some time, but it will not deliver optimal health, meaning our pets’ lives are cut short, and we’ll be paying extra on vet bills because ultimately our dogs will become ill and die earlier from degenerative diseases.
